I’m starting a new category on this blog called “Inflation” because there are just too many examples, and they need their own category.
Take this Time.com story for example, about how manufacturers are simply including less food in packages rather than raise prices. This has been going on for years, actually - I can remember from my childhood that Certs candies used to be solid disks - now they are concave on both sides. The same is true for Dial soap (and this is mentioned in the article) - what used to be a solid block of soap [] is also now concave )( on both sides.
The businesses in this country are getting hit with the inflation tax that’s most evident in the form of gas prices, and as always, they’re passing on the costs to their customers. You can expect to pay the same now (more later) for less product, and as long as the government continues to print money, that will continue to be the case.
