The [PDF Link] Seventh Report Card On Computer Security At Federal Departments And Agencies [PDF Link] has been released, with the government receiving an overall grade of C. While they’re doing better than in past years, there are still too many agencies that receive F. Here are the results (ranges include things like “+” or “-”, eg, “C+”) :
A Range: DOJ, International Development, EPA, NSF, Social Security, HUD, OPM, General Services
B Range: DOE, Homeland Security, HHS, Small Business
C Range: NASA
D Range: State, Education
F: Commerce, Transportation, Labor, Defense, Interior, Treasury, Nuclear Regulatory, Veterans, Agriculture
Only five departments improved one grade level or more year over year: Energy, Homeland Security, NASA, State, and Education. Transportation and Labor went from the B Range to F.
