Second Amendment To Go To Court?
Washington DC has a ban on handguns, ostensibly for the sake of its citizens, even though most of them that are killed are still killed by handguns. (How many of those were people who would have had a gun to defend themselves if there was no ban?)
“In 2003, Washington resident Dick Heller, who lives in one of the city’s tougher districts, lodged a suit against the local authorities saying his constitutional right to bear arms was being violated. Although his case was initially rejected, he won on appeal to a federal appeals court in March.”
It looks like the case may get all the way to the Supreme Court. If they do decide to hear the case, let’s hope they decide on the side of freedom, and restore to those people in DC (and other places) their right to bear arms.
