Fair And Balanced?
Filed Under News, Election 2008 | Leave a Comment
Fox News claims to be fair and balanced, but as you can see in this video, that’s not really the case. Ironic that they don’t want to promote the only Republican who is actually conservative in the true sense of the word!

If you’ve ever watched the HBO Miniseries “Band Of Brothers“, you’ll recall that in the eighth episode “The Last Patrol” that after the first of two patrols, the men of Easy Company rightfully did not carry out the second patrol so close to the end of the war. It seems that many of the men and women stationed in Iraq are doing much the same thing… Read more

Updated: FEMA Employees Pretend To Be Reporters For FEMA Conference
Filed Under US Government, News | Leave a Comment
What’s the best way to make sure that the questions you get at your press conference are ones you know you can answer?
According to Al Kamen of the Washington Post: “…something didn’t seem right. The reporters were lobbing too many softballs. No one asked about trailers with formaldehyde for those made homeless by the fires. And the media seemed to be giving Johnson all day to wax on and on about FEMA’s greatness.” Read more

How will a war with Iran start? It will start with Israel, which actually shouldn’t be a surprise. What is likely to happen is that Israel will attach Iran, and then Iran will strike back, and that will give the US a reason to attack Iran - to “protect our ally”… Read more

Big Brother Will Now Ride Shot Gun

Under the guise of “preventing dangerous car chases”, GM is now planning to add remote stopping capabilities to 1.6 million 2009 vehicles. The idea (which the police are apparently very excited about) is that when a car is stolen, the owner will report it, and then when a police officer spots the vehicle, they can contact OnStar to have the vehicle brought to a stop. The driver (in this case a presumed felon) will only lose the ability to accelerate, and all other functions of the car will continue to work. (Read on for why I think it’s a bad idea and get a video link of the technology in action.) Read more

Putting My Money Where My Mouth Is

Today, I changed my official party registration from Libertarian to Republican. Why would I do such a thing? Why go back to the party that betrayed me so many years ago?
It’s simple - to reclaim libert and increase freedom, I need to be able to vote for Ron Paul in the New York Republican primary. It’s unfortunate that the election rules we have now prohibit non-Republicans from voting in the Republican primary, but those are the rules. As such, I will be a Republican temporarily so as to vote for Ron Paul.
I also sent in a donation to the Ron Paul campaign. You can do the same at http://www.ronpaul2008.org/donate/.
When I vote for Ron Paul for president, I will be a Libertarian again, but for now, we need to do what we can within the rules to work for the best course of action to reclaim liberty.

“Two months after insisting that they would roll back broad eavesdropping powers won by the Bush administration, Democrats in Congress appear ready to make concessions that could extend some crucial powers given to the National Security Agency.Administration officials say they are confident they will win approval of the broadened authority that they secured temporarily in August as Congress rushed toward recess. Some Democratic officials concede that they may not come up with enough votes to stop approval.”
