US To Expand Domestic Use Of Spy Satellites
Filed Under US Government, News
In what can only be described as Orwellian, the government is planning to start using military spy satellites against US citizens. They’ve even created an office, the “National Application Office”, which will determine who gets access to the data.In addition to capabilities of taking pictures, there are plans to use the more advanced features such as infrared detection to allow the satellites to view people inside buildings. Ostensibly to “fight crime and terrorism”, this new system could very easily be abused. While it’s mentioned that it will have to be “vetted through a legal process”, we know well that the cowards in Congress will pretty much vote for anything, even if it infringes on civil liberties.
