According to this Reuters article, up to 2,000 Iraqis are displaced every day, and most Iraqi school children have been out of school for quite some time. This raises the possibility that there will be a generation of uneducated Iraqis, something that wouldn’t have happened under Saddam Hussein. Furthermore, if this article from signs-of-the-times.org is to be believed, the US is actually far worse for the Iraqi people as they now have no water, are starting to suffer intestinal illnesses, and have no electricty either, all in a country with ridiculous amounts of “oil wealth”.
Update: It appears that we can believe signs-of-the-times.org. The BBC has basically the same story.
